WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

From the 1970s through most of the 1990s, the records management (RM) discipline had what might be described as an uneasy relationship with the personnel in computer services departments.  Some five or more years ago, this began to change for the better.  Together with legal departments, Information Technology (IT) is records managements most important stakeholder, and no significant records management problem can be solved without IT and RM working hand-in-glove.  In

this presentation, David Stephens summarizes his experience in working with IT personnel throughout the United States to apply records management principles in meeting the challenges posed by electronic records.  Mr. Stephens will also discuss electronic document management and how to integrate the records management functionality into EDM solutions.  He will briefly cover EDM features and functions as well as related technologies.
